Are you considering renovating your home?

Re Levelling your house is an absolute must if you are undertaking any renovations or alterations before you commence work.

We start by accessing under your house to set up an accurate laser beam and take the heights of all of your stumps/ piers. once the heights have been ascertained we come up with a plan to correct your house.

Sinking floors, paths and driveways, cracked walls, jamming doors and windows can all be indicators of structural damage. Causes are various and include; building subsidence, bearing on unstable or weak ground, a broken pipe causing erosion, moisture changes in clay soil, and earthquake liquefaction. Our solutions are cutting edge and the modern answer to the traditional way to underpin; it is like keyhole surgery compared to concrete underpinning. Our alternatives to underpinning are not just for concrete slab floors.

FAQ

  • How do I know if my house needs Re-Leveling?

If your windows are uneven and your doors don't shut properly, you most likely need to get your house relevelled. Your houses' entire integrity is reliant on your foundations and if they become unsteady or weak then you may be prone to a costly structural collapse.

Newcastle House Levelling has all the experience on hand to guide you through the process, offer general advice and quote a professional job right here in Newcastle, to give you peace of mind and improve your home's structures and value.

  • What will happen if I don't fix it?

Technically you can renovate your home before re-levelling. However, it’s not recommended. Generally, foundation repair involves lifting your house upwards. This may cause a variety of issues. For example, fractures in brick exteriors, tile cracks, sheetrock cracks and damage to plumbing pipes.

Because of these issues, it’s imperative to fix any foundation problems before beginning the renovation. Regardless of whether it is pier and beam foundation repair or slab foundation repair, it’s important to reduce the potential for damage.

  • What is the process to re-level my house?

If you can feel your house being unlevel by looking at the floor and even feeling it with your feet then the chances are that you need this fixed as soon as possible.

Over time, the ground moves. The ground can also move at a rapid rate if there is constantly wet weather or if you do not have appropriate drainage underneith your house.

To level a house, we run the laser across the problematic areas to see how out of level specific areas are. Then with that information, we level the home using a "jack and pack" system. You will feel the difference in the floors almost immediately.

  • Do I need council approval to level my house?

No, council approval is not necessary to level your home.
